Vista Service Pack 1 RC Refresh

erm,

silly question, but what are you going to benchmark it against?

How fast it boots?
File copys and such?

I dont see any diff. from going from rc1 to rc1 refresh.

RTM isnt out yet as far as i know. as rtm is release basically.

yeah, file copying. local and network. i saw a benchmark on RC1 vs RTM, I'd like to see if theres been any change in the refresh.

And i meant RTM as in vista with no SP.

i have used both,

i noticed an increase going from Vista RTM to SP1 rc, but from sp rc to rc-refresh i havent seen a further speed increase.

Hope thats of some help, not very techinical i know. Using a giga lan at home on cat6 cable with jumbo frames and such enabled.

benchmarking these things is completely pointless. other people's performance is going to be no reflection on how it affects your pc. you'll just have to suck it and see.

for example, my pc hasn't been affected by any of these issues at all. my file copy speeds are just as fast as xp even back when i first got vista last march i think it was. i'm currently running the sp1 beta (not the refresh) and i can't tell the difference. yet others have had problems, installed the beta and are getting massive increases in performance. how does this help you? it doesn't..... :p

refresh 2 came out today/yesterday

the internet seems to say it'll be out mid feb

i wouldn't bother installing until then if you're using a live system.
