For the love of god, how do I make it open maximized when I next open it up ?

god knows, but this is a bit of a workaround:

run mmc (supersearch will find it)

hit ctrl+m and add services to the selected snap-ins, finish, ok.

maximize the window

'save as' something short and snappy - if you name it "services" then supersearch will always find the other one first. I went for "sv".


okay, worked it out...
first you need to take control of the services.msc file in C:\Windows\System32...
right click, properties, security, advanced, owner, edit, other users or groups, advanced, find now, YOURUSERNAME, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, edit, add, advanced, find now, YOURUSERNAME, ok, ok, Allow Full control, ok, yes, ok.

then open it with notepad, change line 5:
<WindowPlacement ShowCommand="SW_SHOWNORMAL">

to be the same as line 15:
<WindowPlacement WPF_RESTORETOMAXIMIZED="true" ShowCommand="SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED">

hit save.

hmmm... it worked for me on Vista 32 Home Premium...

You sir are a top banana, I didn't notice the bit about maximising the window in the top method, now it opens maximised.
