vista sharing qestion..

ok i have a pc with vista home prem. and a laptop with vista business. both linked via a netgear router with the same workgroup name.

On the laptop i can see via the network the pc however i only have access to the pubic folder. on the pc i can see the laptop's public and user area, gaining access to the user area with the credentials.

both seem setup the same, is this a home premium/business compatibility issue here?

any thoughts

Just to confirm, you are prompted for a password when you try to access the user folder on the laptop?

Probably just configured differently. Is the Vista Business laptop your own or one from work? You can find out what files and folders you are sharing by clicking the link with the same name in the Network & Sharing window if I recall correctly.

i installed both computers, it's a case of..

from the main pc (home prem) i can access the laptop(buss) user data via entering the logon credentials. however from the laptop i can't see the main pc user area to access only the public.
