Vista Sidebar

Hey,
Everytime I use the "Show Desktop" icon from the quicklaunch, the vista sidebar always disapears. To get it back I have to open a window or something else which makes it reappear. Is there a way to stop this from happening so the sidebar doesn't disappear when I show the desktop?

I have the same problem, I don't think there is a way of stopping it, as the Side bar isn't really part of the Desktop, it's an app, hence why it also gets closed to taskbar when you press show desktop.

I've asked a similar question on the Neowin forums here to see if there was such a tweak to force the sidebar to stay with the desktop. Unfortunately there isn't anything yet however you can use the following command, Windows + M, this doesn't minimise the sidebar unlike Windows + D

is it not meant to do that?? mine does that too but i thought it was supposed to

It is but I guess some people would like to force the sidebar to stay with the desktop
