Vista slow at 3.6ghz

Hi Guys, built a system quite a while back..
Main Spec:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz

OCZ 4GB 800 MHZ Platinum Revision 2

Hitachi Deskstar 160GB SATA-II

BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC 512MB

Problem is with windows vista ultimate(sp1) it runs slow on my system i hav overclocked my cpu to 3.6ghz and havnt overclocked the ram just to let you know..

Im not sure why its slow.. System is clean with no viruses etc..

What could cause this the overclock??

It can do, if the cpu is getting overstressed then it's going to not perform so good.

What do you mean by slow anyway ?

One thing to check is power profile. dont use Power Save mode as it sets a 50% max cpu throttle

I originaly set it thinking that would be needed for cool n quiet to work so took abit of swearing to figure what was up

Has it run slow from day one? I reinstalled everything and it works a lot quicker now, must have just been bogged down!

Yeah i would try a fresh install
