I've a hp dual core laptop running vista business, and during the boot up sequence it pauses for 20-30 seconds while what appears to be the wireless connection sorts itself out.

There is no hard disc activity, and the sidebar loads shortly afterwards too...

does anyone know why this is and if there are any nice easy fixes?

is there a switch for the wirelss what happens when you switch the wifi of then boot?

So it pauses when it gets to the desktop?

there's a pause still when booting without wireless enabled... so that rules that one out... not i am confused.

yes, it pauses when it gets to the desktop

i have a laptop running vista with 2GB of ram and my wireless connection takes about 20-30 seconds to get a connection, i mean does 20 seconds really makes much difference while you wait for your desktop/ taskbar to refresh when booting up?

lol, no it doesn't make that much difference in the big scheme of things, but it's one of those things that niggles sometimes... you know, like getting that extra 0.1MHz out of a chip, just because you think it should ;)
