Thought this was fixed ???

Transferring files from my 2 Vista (sp1) x64 machines to my Icy Box NAS I only get about 8 Mb / sec.

Doing it on my Win XP sp2 and I get about 20 Mb/sec.

Umm any ideas ?

As transferring files from Win XP - Vista I get about 35 Mb / sec.

Thanks.

Have you turned off remote differential compression? Meant to speed things up.

I have it turned off and I'm getting 55-60Mbps (7.19 - 8 MB/s) from my old slow G4 Mac Mini to my Vista x64 box.

Thanks, I'll give that a try tomorrow.

Just did a very quick test and it seems getting a file from NAS to Vista is much quicker at about 20 mb.

Vista to NAS is 10 mb, if that makes any sense ?

I don't seem to get great transfer speeds over my network either :( I'm not sure if it's vista or my wireless, or the computer at the other end though really...?

Everything is G and N, and i never manage much of 2MB/s which is about 24Mb/s which seems a little low even giving overhead? I've also got RDC turned off too... Hmmm

I had to update my firmware (well the linux os anyways) on my synology ds106j to get decent speeds in vista. Still slower than xp but an extra 50% on top of the speed I was getting was nothing to sneeze at.

As I understand it Vista uses a different (iirc) samba protocol and this causes a few issues with getting fast speeds. Check to see if you can get a firmware update from icybox.
