Vista sound issues

my sound on vista using inbuilt asus hd 7.1 and the standard vista drivers is quite.

I have made sure output is on 100 etc even turning up the slider on my headphones all the way its still low.

is there any drivers I need to make it better, as it is when it shows u the green bars when sound is playing they only go up about 1rd of the way.

anyone any ideas.
 
from what I can tell my p5wdh deluxe has realtek so thanks for that Im downloading the ac97 vista driver just now. hopefully that will fix it.

Edit: windows kept popping up a box asking if im sure i wish to continue installing after the 10th time i got fed up and cancelled it. :p
