Trying to sort out my Grandad's laptop, it runs ok but I'd like to stick IE8 on it (as it takes no extra learning from IE7, but runs faster) and it needs SP1 installed to run that and I may aswell get both service packs on there for the security and performance benefits.
Annoyingly though it keeps failing, despite the fact I've closed every program on the laptop, including the antivirus program on there! It gives the following error: 0x8007000D and points me to this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947366 so I've tried everything. Just trying one last attempt (redownloading install file incase of corruption and uninstalled the antivirus program, temporarily).
Any ideas if this doesn't work?
P.S. I hate Vista, wish he had either XP or 7 on it!
