Is this new Vista SP1 beta worth downloading. I have vista 64 ultimate. Does it make a difference? also where can I get it from. Thanks :)

wait until it's final, unless you don't mind the slight possibility of introducing problems

will be out in jan i think

I've installed it, no problems at all so far. Network transfers are much quicker (main reason I installed it), system seems generally slightly faster, but that may be a placebo.

If you have an issue that it fixes, install it (but backup everything first), if you don't, then wait for the final.

Just wait until the final release.

As mentioned earlier if the current RC fixes an issue that you have then install it but backup everything first!

If it doesn't fix any of your issues, or you have a stable system (lucky if you do) then wait until the final release, but wait a while to see if there are any major issues which can then get patched via MS Update.

Ok thanks, everything seems to be running fine here. So I guess microsoft have not mentioned a date for the final release. Thinking june?

I think I'll wait until the final release, I've got a perfectly running Vista 64 Ultimate at the moment and don't want to risk that.

:D opps thats done it now somethings bound to go wrong.

You could always create an image of your system working perfectly, and then try SP1 and see how it runs. If it messes up, just restore your old image in 10 minutes and it'll be exactly as when you made it. :)

That's the most sensible way I have heard all day on this forum. :)
