vista start bar....

is it me, or is vista beyond CRAP at putting new program start bar directories in place? every single game i install i have to go via the root directry to create a desktop short cut because vista doesnt make a shortcut or a start bar directory.. its driveing me nuts, why cant MS make something decent for once?

I doubt it's Vista, you're usually given the option after it's installed to place a start menu directory shortcut. But hey, if you don't like it, dont use it ;)

All the shortcuts are in the games folder. :) If you don't want them there, you'll just have to copy the across and create a shortcut.

This is the thing. Games go in the games folder available directly from the start menu.

Vista is doing exactly what it's supposed to do, grouping all your games in one place for easy access. The only games that still tend to go direct to the start menu are much older ones that Vista isn't aware of and use direct referencing to put the start menu options into place.
 
I've had this problem before and its not from not ticking the box.

I'm still trying to figure out what it is. Maybe from older program installers. Sometimes it places the shortcut in the start menu no problems.
