So I installed Vista last night (I know! What the hell?!) to have a play around with, but as of this morning some of the Start Menu entries have dissapeared.

This is what's showing at the moment:

As you can see, thing like Accessories, Startup, etc. are missing.

However, if I right click on the Start Menu and choose Open, I get taken to:

C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

where the missing programs are shown:

Any ideas what's going on? Why did it happen and how can I fix it?

Thanks.

I think it's something to do with the accounts that are set up, I had a similar thing with mine.

I believe I fixed it by just moving the entries across to my own username's Start Manu folder, but i'd wait for someone more experienced to clarify before you do.

had a similar problem. Woke up one day and there were some programs missing, inlcuidng internet explorer, windows media player, messenger, (note they're all windows programs!).

thing is i'm not sure where these are in vista. there's one in my userspace but is there one for all users too?
