What do they mean?

My system has a rating of 4.9, according to Vista.
What does this mean? good pc or what? lol

MY Processor was my lowest score so I got a 5.0 :) yay 0.1 better :)

Anwyays I think it basically just lets you run aero after you do it since it loads up as basic interface!

so 4.9 is fine if Aero is working fine :)

I got 5.somethings for everything but the memory which only got 4.6 :(

Dunno why cos it's pretty decent Corsair DDR stuff

I dont think i tmeans much TBH, aslong as its over 4, i would imagine vist will run ok.

My "Vista Premium ready" laptop gets something like 2.9 (which is the GFX card score), and it runs perfectly fine with Aero etc. from what I've seen so far.

Check this Out

Hi,

Take a look at this, it explains what criteria has been used to benchmark each of the score categories and how it is all going to be used for identifying software system requirements in the future.

You guys getting 4+ have top notch machines! And 5+, well there's just no stopping you! I will be chuffed to bits if I achieve somewhere in the 3's when I upgrade LOL!

isnt the general idea to give mr joe bloggs a idea of his system, instead of reading required system specs (which confuses the hell out of general people), there will be a vista subscore on games and software in future so they know it will run, for exmaple a high end game might have a score of 4 on, and if you system is 4 or over it will work fine. If that is the case i think its a great idea as it gives people an idea *** will run and what wont.

If that is the case, Supercrewd, then I for one, think that is an excellent idea. I wish MS would've thought of that before. :D

hmmm but how does this accomodate for future hardware? for arguements sake lets say the highest number is 10 and people with qx6700, 4gb, sli8800gtx's score 10, in the future when the qx7000, 8gb and xfirex2900xtxs machines are here what rating will they get? and will the ratings of the older machines be downgraded?
