Hi,
Ive recently built a new computer and i originally had to hard drives, one with vista home premium installed on it. It worked fine, very quick with no problems.
Then after i attempted to dual boot with XP on the other (which failed mid flow), when i turned on the pc i got a black screen and message 'Error loading operating system' - therefore i didnt have an OS!
I then managed to install XP pro on the other hard drive which worked fine and XP ran well, loading very fast etc. (I remained unable to get into vista when i tried to boot from that Hard drive.)
I tried reparing the installation, didnt work, so i reformatted the hard drive with the bad vista install on and re-installed vista fresh. However, on every screen, every next step etc it would take literally 10minutes to continue, almost a hang.
This has continued throughout. Now when i turn on the pc i get a black screen for 10minutes then the vista laoding bar comes up and seems to load for a further 10minutes then finally it gets into vista.
Once im in, there doesnt seem to be any problems at all!!??
Can anyone help!!!???
P.S In the process of installing fresh vista, i may well of reset the computer after th initial setup load phase - because it would hang for so long on a black screen - i thought it was hanging but it was just taking ages!
ALso - now when i try and select the other hard drive to boot XP, i get the xp loading bar and logo then suddenly a quick glimpse of a blue screen of death, then the pc restarts. any ideas!?
