Having found Vista to be totally unusable for any meaningful office environment I want to go back to XP.

Is there any easy way of doing this that anyone knows of or should I just format and reinstall??

I simply cannot see why people like Vista - it's impenetrable for anything bar writing emails, it has almost no compatability beyond M$ software and even that is limited and the spelling is worse than ever, not to mention the licensing scandal.

I have previously been called a lunatic and a communist for showing myself to be less than impressed with Vista so I'm not going to turn this thread into an anti-Vista tyrrade but I am absolutely apauled with it in every single way!!!

If you're going to rant, tell the truth. That just simply isn't true.

Would you like me to compile a list of software that I used under XP that will not run under Vista?

It is well known that various bits of software are incompatible with Vista - why you would try and dispute that is beyond me.

"It is well known that various bits" is not quite the same as "it has almost no compatability beyond M$ software" is it? ;)

sure there a few apps that don't work but that's upto the developers of those apps to release vista compatible versions. hardly microsoft's fault is it? :)

Not entirely constructive to the thread, but ive found it fine.

I have it on my laptop, and along with Office 2007 & a few other apps, find it essential to my work. Making appointments, keeping track of tasks, sending/recieving emails.
It all depends what Apps you have.

What problems were you having exactely? Prehaps we can save you a lot of effort if we know what the problems were, before you format the system. :).
