Hi guys

I'm having a bit of a issue with my PC today...haven't done anything unusual on it today, just switched it on today, went to copy some stuff onto a pendrive and got a BSOD.

So far I have had 5 BSODs seemingly at random, including one in safe mode and the only error message I managed to make a note of was one that said IRQ_not_less_than_or_equal_to.

Usually I would just Google that error and sort it out...unfortunately each error message has been different on each BSOD...so I'm at a total loss...if anyone can suggest anything to diagnose/fix the issues it would be most appreciated!

Many thanks in advance :)

If the messages are random it points more towards a memory issue, Run the vista mem check on boot, available from pressing F8

Also turn off automatic reboots after errors so you have time to read the cause of the crash to assist in a solution,

Have you overclocked anything or changed drivers recently?
Check windows update history to see if it has sneeked in a driver update

Hi, many thanks for your reply!

Does the memory check take long? I've got 8GB in there!

Auto reboot is now switched off :D

The only thing that has updated, is Windows Defender which updated yesterday and today...don't know if that would make any difference

Nope, nothing is overclocked and there haven't been driver updates

8GB ram is always iffy, mine for example will randomly crash at the rated 1GHz with the rated 2.1v voltages but if I run it say 960MHz it's fine at 2 volts.

It's just the fact that there's so many sticks of large memory it needs more slack and increasing DDR voltage won't really help.

Run the ram ~50MHz slower and see what happens.

Thanks for the reply mrk, I would be surprised if that is the problem, it sounds like an ongoing problem for you but this had just suddenly started...it's been fine since I built it a few months back.

The memory test has completed successfully...and strangely it's hasn't BSOD'd in a while now...I wonder if it's sorted itself out

That was the same problem I had, not an ongoing problem but completely random. It may go 3 days without BSOD but then randomly it would BSOD for example.

All memory tests showed no problems either.

i had simlar problems on my i7 940 @ 3.6 & memory at 1333 from 1066 kept getting IRQ BSOD & Another i cant remember.

i turnt the OC off fully its been fine ever since.:D
