What the hell is it and why does it keep crashing?

It's really getting on my nerves, each time I go to a folder with video files in it, it crashes, and then doesn't stop crashing it's self till I reboot the PC. Rather annoying when I just want to browse files and this sodding pop-up comes up...

Best part is that even if a folder is not set to displaying thumbnails of the videos, it does it anyway!

I'm guessing reinstall Vista is probably the best option, although I've only just installed it (install is about a week or so old).

Found this. Might be usefull.

try renaming the file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter\NeVideo.ax to NeVideo.ax.bak. You may also need to rename NeVideoHD.ax to NeVideoHD.bak
This will break Nero Showtime, however.

Oh, if it's Nero, then what decent CD/DVD burning apps are out there, like Nero, but not as damned annoying? :p :D

In theory I only have Nero BurningROM installed, as I cant stand the whole suite they give you, but I know it also installs lots of the crap that you tell it not to. Like Showtime and Homestart (or something similar).

Nero Burning Rom should still work. Might be wrong though.

Meh, my point was more that I'd just uninstall Nero and use something that isn't as retarded and annoying. :p

Cheers though, I've renamed them, yet to check my folders...

You sir, are a leg end ;) :p

Cheers, has fixed the problem, and Vista still loads it's thumbnails. :)
