Vista ultimate 64 game performance boost question

Having used both 32bit xp pro and currently using vista 64bit with 4gb ram i can safely say vista is faster at everyday use for me, most probably due to the superfetch. Sure it uses up a lot of ram but thats its purpose. When we get into 16gb ram modules you will be laughing at the silly arguments over how much ram is being used, thats also when xp will become old news.
Personally i find vista 64 really enjoyable to use and i havent had a single problem with it. I use it for gaming/encoding/photoshop work and general office use with no problems.
Vista is no longer SLOW and BUGGY, half the people saying this have no idea what they are talking about or have reached a point where they have a problem and just given up. The difference between playing on xp vs vista is about 1-5fps, nothing to get your pants in a twist about.
Saying all that though there is only one thing that annoys me, the file transfer speed across hard drives, other than that it is fine.

Vista x64 is fast, I've not played any games on it though as I'm not really into gaming that much any more but a lot of people on the net say it is pretty good for games. Although I find XP a bit faster for games like Counter Strike Source, I have switched from Vista 64 to XP 64 as I'm still too used to XP plus the games I do play run faster in XP64 but this is probably because my system is a little bit dated.

Really? I found xp64 to be one of the worst OS's, every program/driver seems to hate it.

That is totally wrong, it is true that quite a few different pieces of hardware don't have drivers for XP64. But you can not say that every driver out there does not work and that every program does not work. A lot of motherboard manufacturers still provide XP64 drivers, my motherboard is around 2 years old and it has always had XP64 drivers.

I've Not had any driver problems here at all, not had any issues with programs either the only one is that you can not burn CD's in iTunes but big deal I use Imgburn to burn CD's & DVD's even then iTunes is very bad under every Windows OS in terms of speed and reliablity.

XP64 is by no means the worst OS, it's a lot faster than 32bit XP and I find it on the same level as Vista 64 in terms of speed.

He's talking about XP64 rather than Vista. To be fair, when XP64 was released the driver support went way beyond awful, you couldn't even get a 64bit virus checker (free or paid for) at the time. Apple didn't have iPod drivers, a lot of motherboard manufacturers didn't have mobo drivers, graphics card drivers were always about 5 editions behind.

The O/S itself was fine, and as far as I know the driver situation is pretty good now.
