From the official T&C from microsoft
ADDITIONAL LICENSE TERMS. The following additional license terms apply to Microsoft Windows
Vista Ultimate.
1......
2. NETWORK USE. Instead of installing the software on the licensed device, you may install one copy
on a storage device, such as a network server. You may use that copy only to run the software on
your licensed device over an internal network.
3.....

Does this mean, that I can install vista ultimate on my network server, AND install it on my computer? I take it the latter part of 2. means that ONLY my computer can access the network server (which has vista ultimate installed).

Any other ideas on what 2. means?

It means you could install it on a file server and then use it on a device using something like Terminal Services.

It just means in this case you PC is licensed to run this copy of Vista even though it's physicaly installed elsewhere.

Athanor is correct (although it's not used in TS), its for thin clients who access the OS over a network as they don't have a HDD.
