Hello,

I've had Vista Ultimate installed for the past 2 days, all is more or less fine. Apart from:

- Vista shows 1 DVD Drive and 1 CD Drive, i only have 1 DVD Drive.. the CD Drive just randomly appeared.

- 4GB RAM seems to be a No no, when i try 4GB ram the Aero theme flashes on and off and the boot times are a lot slower.

I had x64 bit previously installed and 4GB RAM worked flawlessly, i don't understand whats the problem.

With the RAM, you may have to manually set the voltage and timings to its rated specs in the BIOS, and possibly increace the northbridge voltage a notch or two.....are you sure its the RAM? have you tried updsting your graphics card drivers?

Graphics drivers are the newest out for my card, 8800GT.

As for ram, good point, i have some OCZ Platinum 6400.. i have tightened up the timings.. 4-4-4-12 @ 2.05.

I shall return to stock and then see how things go.

Tried resetting the timings, and it's still the same.

Aero still randomly flashed on and off every few minutes, also FF likes to crash now.

Running SP1 with all the latest updates.

Well i've found the problem, turns out the stick i was trying to add is past its best. I only memtested the thing about 2 months ago too.. came up with 310 Error in less than a minute.

Looks like i'm sticking with 3GB for now.
