So i have just installed Vista for the first time recently (last two weeks) and wanted to know if anybody has some top tips to streamline it and make it a bit more responsive.
It looks a lot prettier than XP but feels sluggish compared to my XP install. The hardrive always seems to be accessed and working away at something, and on a fresh installation there was loads more procceses loaded with vista than with xp,i understand that this is a different operating system but is there really need to have all these processes running.
It took me an absolute age to copy some photos and files over to Vista, and i thought that programme opening and folder access would be a lot quicker than XP with the new memory prefetch but it seems slower, almost like the operating system pauses to have a good think about what i want to do and then flys it out double quick once its had that time to think.
So if anybody has some top tips for me i would appreciate some help,i want to like this operating system but apart from the improved looks i prefered XP, i am going to give it a couple of months to see if i can get used to it.
