vista unable to send magic packet

Hi everyone

I have been setting up a xp pc to use with my squeezebox and ps3 today, Anyway, I have been able to wake up the pc using a magic packet send from a 2 xp pc's but my vista 64bit pc will not wake up the workstation.

I have googled around, and it seems no one is able to remotely wake up a pc with magic packets any more.

Can vista wake up another pc?

Is Wake on LAN enabled in the BIOS of the Vista box?

I think so, I'll go and check

I did not think that would matter, as I'm sending from the vista box.

I'm just installing SP2 for vista at the moment to see if that fixes it

go into device manager and check the power tab for the NIC

install the latest network drivers also

I have just rebooted from installing SP2 and it's all working now

I guess its one thing the SP fixes
