vista - unsupported monitor resolution?

Hi all,

I have just installed Vista Home Premium with no problems except that my monitor's native resolution of 1680x1050 doesn't seem to be supported (or at least is unavailable in display preferences). My monitor is a Belinea 20" and my video card is a 850XTPE. Anybody any ideas as to why this might be or what I could try? XP Pro supports the resolution no problem so does my Mac.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Possibly, I know some of the nvidia beta drivers didn't allow me to select 1440x900 resolution but I hadn't heard of resolution problems from ATI users. Unless anyone else knows how to solve this I guess the only thing to do is wait for the final drivers, shouldn't be to long now :(

Problem solved! I swapped monitor cables and all seems fine now. Strange that XP was working fine with the old one though .. oh well

Quite often, going into the advanced settings and unticking the box 'hide modes this monitor cannot display' will result in the right mode being shown. Just random monitor driver issues, possibly. Happened to me in RC2 (but not RC1, strangely).
