Vista upgrade & msdn

Currently running a Vista business install with which they key was given to me by a friend with a msdn account.
Can i upgrade to ultimate ? and if so is a new key given to me ? ie next time i need to activate , i use the new key if any or do i use the original key and that original key has been upgraded to ultimate ?

You can, but the cost of doing so is actually about £10 short of the cost of a brand new Vista Ultimate OEM license.
