vista upgrade

been looking at the vista 64bit upgrade but does this mean that i lose my xp ? or is there a way around it eg dual booting or wont it let u use the same product key im confused

i think it lets you keep your old files before installation?

You can choose to replace your current OS or dual boot it. No idea what your on about using the same product key though, your copy of vista will havea different key to your xp copy.

I believe according to microsofts EULA, once you use an upgrade key, the software you upgraded from shouldnt be used anymore... Sure it still works, but im pretty sure its not supposed to be used.

And obviously if you upgrade an XP to vista, your not allowed to install your old XP onto another computer.

This only applies if you buy 'Upgrade' software. If you buy the retail version, then even if you install in upgrade mode, its fine. Its only upgrade licenses that have this restriction.

ahh ok i mite aswell get the retal version i just dont want to lose my xp
