Not sure if this has been mentioned before but here goes, I had (and still do) XP Pro OEM, i bought retail upgrade of vista 32 & 64 bit versions. I then read that you could actually install vista fresh and then upgrade it, supposedly being a cleaner install than xp > vista. I know its not quite legit way to do it but it worked fine until now, ive tried it loads recently it installs fresh no prob but wont then upgrade (needed as it wont activate on the key on box on fresh install as its a upgrade key) says upgrade has failed due to some component etc not being installable, so i installed my xp and then upgraded to vista with no probs, just wondering if MS have closed the loop hole?
