Can you remote desktop onto a Vista Home Premium installation

i know you can t from, but can you still RDC onto one ?

Yes you can as the option is still there in the system properties to allow or block RDC requests into the computer. This is on Home Premium.

Of course you can RDP out from Home Premium (and any other Vista edition) just like you can in just about every windows OS - for any os that doesn't have the client built in (e.g. Windows 2000) you can just download it from microsoft.com.

It was my understanding the the RDP server wasn't included in any of the Home Editions of Vista, but if it's showed up then I would encourage you to try it out and report back.

as i understand it

XP home and

Vista home both have the ability to be remote desktop'd onto

but didnt have the client to remote desktop out. You could download it and install on XP home

i dont believe there is an installer for vista yet

somebody will have to hack one, a quick google reveals nothing.

Remote desktop is the only thing i'll need from Ultimate, and i aint paying £50 for it lol

i'll use VNC if need be lol

It's completely the other way round. The client's built into XP home - i've used it many times. You can't, however, RDP into an XP Home machine.
