Ok hey everyone,

Again thanks for taking the time to look and help me out :)

Right so first thing, the drivers that are pre-installed into Vista like storage controllers and other such things.

Does it matter if I wasn't to remove these components with vlite? I always though that if I didn't remove them (apart from the intel matrix controller) that I might experience compatibility problems or driver clashes...
Even if I was to remove them, are they necessary for SP2? As I know that you can delete the registry key Vlite makes, allowing sp2 to install. - As long as you have not removed any components of the OS.
Would removing the drivers impact this at all?

I also have at my disposal 3 copies of Vista.
32/64 Home Basic
32/64 Home Premium
32/64 Vista Business

Which one would be best suited for a Gaming PC...? I was thinking Home Basic, since there is less 'stuff' and might be a bit nippier?

The only reason I can see for Home basic on the gaming rig would be for movies on the big screen, but does windows media center even play mkv's?
Even so VLC player plays everything anyway...

My Macbook pro will also have to accommodate one install, but it wont be gaming at all.

Another thing, CCleaner - Wrecked my catalyst drivers last time. So I'm wary of registry cleaners... Yet M$ has their own registry cleaner located here.
Any user feedback?
