Damn this thing is annoying!! Basically I have a genuine copy of vista business from my uni. I installed vista 64 SP1 RC - but now I have this crappy watermark. I've tried loads of tips but none work and it's driving me nuts!

That's what you get with Beta software... someone has hacked the dll that shows it, but I can't remember which it is. Seem to remember it won't work on x64 either, so it probably won't be of any use.

If you want a perfect looking system then maybe installing a pre-release version of a service pack isn't the way forward.

Sorry...looking? Is it too much to ask NOT to have a little watermark on a retail version of software?

I don't think it is. I know it's a pre-release version of software...who gives a **** I don't need a little watermark telling me that.

Installing an RC turned it from retail into RC, hence the watermark telling you that. RCs aren't meant to be installed by end users, the market they're aimed at would find a watermark detailing the exact version incredibly helpful.
