Vista + Winamp: Forcing 5.1?

Is there a way to get Winamp to force sound from all speakers in a 5.1 setup like XP Does?

The speakers are all setup as 5.1 and dvd movies etc.. work great - but winamp will only play through front speakers, whereas in xp you could force hardware acceleration and use all 5 for extra volume.

Is there a way around this?

I have 7.1 speakers and they work for everything (WMP, iTunes, Winamp), are your speakers setup correctly in control panel? The side and rear speakers are working in surround mode - they are pretty quiet, vocals are all filtered through the front/centre etc, but then this is how what they designed for in a surround system isn't it, not necessarily for volume?

Setup correctly yup tried every combo too, like i say films etc.. work fine but the rear speakers dont produce any sound with general music.
