Hi,

My sisters new laptop that has Vista 64 bit installed on it is having some problems with connecting to our home hub wirelessly. Most of the time it won't even connect but occasionally it will but it will be as 'local only' and not be able to get through to the internet.

However when the laptop is right next to the home hub as in a foot away or so it will connect and get through to the internet fine. My xp laptop has no issues with connecting and getting through to the internet.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

Thanks

It could be something to do with the wireless device, if it has low signal it wont connect sometimes. On my old computer if the signal on the windows wireless network finder was 2 bars or under it wouldnt connect to a network.

Another problem I had was using the 3rd party drivers, if you are not already try using the windows wzc. It sucks for games as I recently found out but for surfing it should make it a lot easier.
