Decided to do a clean wipe of Vista today, too much junk on the system and I couldn't be bothered to clean it all one piece at a time. Anyhow, completed the installation and have gone to install afew programs to get me up & running again however I find myself unable to do so.
I've gone to install AVG and Windows Live Messenger but in each install process I am met with an error that terminates the install. An image displaying the problems can be found here: Linky. System specs are 4200x2 AMD Proc, 2gb Ram, 8800 gts VC, Vista Home Premium, 500gb hdd. I am also unable to install new windows updates which seems unnerving, though this is something found recently, therefore i'm currently working on it.
I have been able to install programs such as STEAM, Winamp and Open Office but the above just aren't working at all. Most solutions I can find seem to invlove a restart and praying, was wondering if anyone else has any ideas?
