Hello all, Windows Vista crashed on startup with a BSOD error, and after a google search they say I have to restore the Software registry with RegBack, or some other method, the problem is i'm not entirely sure how to do this from cmd.exe, so any help on how to do it would be greatly appreciated, Many Thanks :)

Edit: I've restored the registry but it still gets the error on booting up, yet the only fix i've found is replacing the Software Hive with the Software.old hive in the RegBack folder, so i'm not entirely sure what else to do now, the error is "The initial session process or system process terminated unexpectedly" so any help would be greatly appreciated, Many Thanks again

Sorry for the double post, but no one has any idea about this Vista problem? ;( replacing the hive didnt seem to have worked like it did for pretty much every other case i've seen of this, if I reinstall Windows Vista over the top of the old install, will it keep all the files such as the ones in My Documents etc intact or? thank you if someone can help :)
