Vista won't boot

I've got XP home and Vista RC2 installed at the moment on separate hard disks. A few weeks ago I did a format and reinstall of XP on my main drive. After the format, the boot screen where you can choose to boot to either Vista or XP disappeared. I tried to get into Vista today by going into the boot menu of my motherbord and choosing to boot from my second hard disk. It wouldn't boot though, I just got a message saying "invalid boot disk". Does anyone know what's gone wrong with the Vista installation and if there's any way I can get it working again without reinstalling?

Thanks in advance

In installing vista, it places the NTLDR (the loader) onto your first hard disk, not the second one (essentially replacing your XP NTLDR).

Now that you've re-installed XP, it's over-written the Vista NTLDR and now all you have is vista files with no way of booting it up.

Sucks, huh.

It happened to me. i re-installed vista and it was fine.
