Vista X-fi drivers help

I just installed vista yesterday and still dont have any sound.

I have a X-fi fatality, i downloaded the vista drivers off the creative site 2.13.0012, isntalled them and rebooted. It still said I didnt have sound drivers installed, vista is no help fixing it. The creative audio console is in my programs but when I try to open it I get this message. "The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit.

Any ideas how to fix this, I had no problems in XP.

Which version of vista are you using 32 or 64bit?

Got it working now, had to use the xp drivers :confused:

Now I just need the audio console I had before where you can change between entertainment and game mode, is this available for vista?

youp pax hacked drivers.

has some xfi 2 stuff in aswell. Tis only way i got xfi software to work in vista

Have no problem with the X-FI in vista x64, just no microphone boost. Using modded or original drivers

on the creative drivers site, go to

Soundblaster > Xfi > choose card

not!

Xfi > choose card

it makes sense if you look at it again, the 2nd one only has the new 3 cards in it

yuppp i did

uninstalled rebooted then installed.

If they are the right ones, 80% sure they are (it was like 4am when found them last time so its hazey

)

Tried them today, unistalled all drivers and software I had on, got the Youp Pax drivers 2007 off newsgroups, went through all the install. Windows still says there is no driver. :confused:

I dont understand why the xp drivers worked, the creative update check said I dont have any creative products installed too.

erm... ok... Its working now.

Just tried to install the xp drivers again, it said I have a newer version already and quit, then I restarted and now I have sound and the Creative control panel.

Its not like this was my 1st reboot, I restarted after I installed the Youp Pax software.

Oh well, I dunno how its happened but im happy its working now.

I just hope creative sort it out for next time I re-install.
