Vista x64 net issue

this is EXACTLY what I got about 2 weeks ago. Looked around no end but ended up reformatting. The only program I had installed that day was Sega Rally...
 
I've had this problem before on Vista x64, and noticed its been posted a few times over the last few weeks. In my case it seemed to be casued when I did a mass update of various drivers (chipset, NIC, sata controller etc). Luckily I was able to use system restore to go back to a previous point and thats fixed it, but it doesn't seem to have worked in your case :(

What anti-virus are you using? Perhaps its something to do with that.

Iam using nod and the vista firewall
 
I've had the same problem before (twice) and nothing I tried fixed it. All 32 bit programs didn't connect but anything 64 bit worked fine.

Only way I could fix it was with a complete reinstall. :(
 
try removing nod32

i think i read somewhere that it can cause problems

-try disabling IMON temporally

Same here... try as bledd says and reinstall nod, then try going into safe mode after and see if things work in there first.

I've had a look through my event logs of the time when this happened to me and all I had done was install vmware server and some driver updates but as I said before a rollback to the previous days restore point fixed it..
 
Arrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggg, got this problem again.

Gutted :(

Anyone know off a fix other than a re-install?

Its was playing up last night and I played around with the DNS changed it to 'Use These DNS Servers' now tried changing it back to' Get Automatically From ISP' and only X64 IE is working.

Cheers Bledd, just tried quitting IMON in NOD and then both FF and IE X32 ran ok. Opened up NOD and IMON had enabled its self back on. Both IE and FF are working again.

You having any issues with NOD?
 
Just opened NOD, and enabled IMON and this message comes up

Also upgraded to FF 2.0.0.11 over the weekend. So as I turn IMON on FF does load and websites.

Edit IMON seems to be working after a restart now.

****s sake got this problem, again!

Last time I used my PC, om Wed eve I couldnt access the net on vista x64. When I diagnose and repair on my connection, it kept saying dns issue. Now it doesnt show any issues.

Tried disabling nod32, and closing it down and closing the windows firewall, and it didnt help this time :(

Really dont wanna have to do a re-install! :mad:
