Vista x64 registery cleaner / HD Cloning

I am hoping to clone my hard disk and Vista 64 OEM install to a new Samsung 1Tb F1 drive and make that the main C drive using the free edition of HDClone (is there a better one?). Before doing it I want to remove some old codecs and give the registery a bit of a clean, so it it can be as much as a virtual clean install as possible. What software do you guys reccomend for this. Any thing else I should be doing before I clone my hard disk?

CCleaner but do a registry backup first. Scan with a good antivirus (NOD32) and Malwarebytes to make sure everything is tickety boo. I use Acronis True Image it is cheap and very good. Never used HDClone so can't help ther I'm afraid.

If you comp. has either a Seagate or Maxtor HDD in it, you can use either DiscWizard or MaxBlast which are the same and is Acronis true Image 11, with one or two minor features removed.

The is also CloneZilla and EASEUS Disk Copy or download a trial copy of Acronis true Image......
