Hi all,

recently upgraded my system to Vista x64 from 32bit which ran flawlessly. no hardware changes whatsoever.

Anyways, since the switch (fresh install) i have been encountering constant problems with my X-fi Extrememusic which im unable to find answers for on the net.

All drivers are the latest from Creative, as are other system drivers. Alchamy is also installed.

The problem is occasionally the 5.1 setup will switch channels with some speakers cutting out. Also have noticed little blips with audio in Winamp, games and MPC which will cause the system to freeze up with no warning or Blue Screen.

Im at a loss with this, have re-installed drivers. Any ideas?

Welcome to the club of creative x-fi problems in vista.

This is just one of the many problems people are experiencing with their x-fi cards in vista, furthermore creative haven't done much in the way of fixing these issues. :/

your telling me!!!

I had none of this with XP....i by no means have fantastic speakers, but geez it never used to sound this flat at default settings
