Vista + XP Dual Boot Problem

Hello,

My laptop had Vista installed on it originally (on C: ). I installed XP on drive D: but I couldn't access Vista anymore (whenever I reboot it went straight to XP), so I copied the folder Boot, and the files bootmgr, boot.ini, NTDETECT.COM and ntldr rom C: and paste them to D: . I ran Vista Boot Pro software did all the stuff and rebooted, two options come up: Windows Vista and Windows XP, Windows Vista works but XP doesn't (this message comes when I choose XP):

Windows Error Recovery: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

File: \ntldr

Status: 0xc000000f
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt

If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate this.

Thanks in advance.

edit: I have the files autoexec.bat, boot.ini, ntdetect.com and ntldr in both my partitions (C: and D:), still get the same error message when choosing XP.

Always install the oldest O/S first.

Or dont try to put XP on after VISTA.

So, now what you can tyr, is recovering the Vista install with a Vista Disk and se if that gets you sorted?
