I must say from everyone complaining about vista i was a little doubtfull about installing it, but since i have it dont regret it, everything works fine even on beta drivers, ok some of the software is a little quirky, and all the applications have parts missing but it all works, and i play games quite a lot and my 8800 works fine on the beta drivers my only issue with vista, is that on battlefield 2142 i keep getting kicked out the server with a msg punkbuster, apparently im cheating but i havent done anything wrong, i think vista has caused this but hey the new patch is out today, and if anyone thinks vista is crap and shouldnt get it just because things dont work correctly thats because its brand new and if your like me i want the new software now, so if your not prepared to go through with the fixes then dont get it but dont complain when something this new and powerfull has only come out i would never go back to xp now my games run more smoothly, getting more power from my pc, and my pc is coming more stable as every patch and driver comes out.

Yes, Vista has been 99% perfect for me so far. A lot of people are really getting off complaining about it though.

i love vista. Only one thing annoyed me when i got it and that was because i had no saitek driver for my wheel. On the 30th it came out so i have no problems now. I cant really tell any difference between graphics quality with xp and vista. Both looks good. I couldnt ever go back to xp now. Ever.

Whats everyones views to vista ?
At the moment, I think the whiners have a fair argument. Yes, theres a lot of incompatibilities and minor problems, but the main (and probably only) reason for this is because we're still living in the XP era.

Everywhere I've looked, manufacturers are saying, "Wow, Vista is REALLY different.. writing drivers is awkward. Give us a bit, will ya?". So when all the drivers are out, and software is being written to take advantage of all the new additions to Vista, then its going to be the place to be.

Like I said, we're still in the XP era, we're trying to run software on an OS that has to take a step back to use it. Wait until the software is Vista only, then we'll see a lot of people change their minds about it.

For me, I'm loving it. I much prefer it over XP, XP felt a bit too basic. Vista is bright and shiny, has all the bells and whistles, and makes me feel like I've put a lot of money into the computer for a good reason.

yer even to add to the fact my 8800 didnt work on xp the games had weird coloured sqaures in the movies but when i played the game it was fine i never found the cure untill i installed vista :)

i think what took every one by surprise is how it was just released everyone rushed out and bought it including me, i wasnt sure about vista and all the driver issues and if it would even work, but i took the risk and to my surprise everything was in place to make it work.
