Im bloody annoyed now.
I have had Vista since the beginning. No, before that if you count the hookie Longhorns, but anyway, I have toyed with Vista and I have never had a good install that I have 100% happy with, so, I have just gone back every so often to XP64, which is flawless.
Now, just over a week ago, I had another try and after doing its usual series of updates etc, it went on well, and I was happy... Still had some minor issues that only tonight have finally ben resolved and I am very very happy with how it has gone and so, I have just decided to finally activate it... After all, I paid for it, I might as well go use it.
And there we go... trouble started already, in less than an hour after activating it FFS!
I tried to install CuteFTP v8, the program seemed to run fine, but on quitting, a dialog box opened up telling me it had stopped working and so I followed the link to get the fix, and there is this but in order to get the fix, I need to verify its a legal copy of windows ( OH FFS here we go ) it cannot verify it and I need to download this WGAPluginInstall.exe which then says I need a GenuineCheck.exe so I download that now too!
Anyway, I get a box with a number to put in, but that crashes ???
Even more annoying is that I go back to the page to try to download this fix that is specific to Vista 64, and I can download it now and I try installing it but its not for vista64??? - Hells ****** bells.
Now, get this one... I have had Vista installed for over a week now, I activated it less than an hour ago because I had ironed out any issues and I was happy with it, and now I need to activate it, it wont pass the WGA and yet it will let me download the stuff that I cannot downlaod unles it does pass the WGA, and it now tells me that its already activated but I have 30 days to activate it???
