Behind you... Naked!
Ok, Vista64 & Audigy 2.

I dont have Volume controls on my speakers and so I rely on the Keyboards up/down/mute buttons.
My speakers dont have a HeadPhone jack either, and so I need the livedrive for that.

Now, whenever I plug the headphones into the Live Drive, or if I take them out of it, the speakers ( or headphones ) suddenly go to full-blast.

Only does it in Vista.

Anyone know of a cure?

Aint it typical... This is an issue I have had with Vista since the first time I tried it... Im now on my 7th attempt at getting a good vista install and I decide to post about it and what happens 2 seconds after posting.... I find a cure... The latest drivers sort of seem to fix it.

Cotton wool is certainly high on the list of options though!

LOL

Vista is lesser quality than that of XP?

You are not allowed to say that!

When I said this, I was called a liar becaose of Vistas superior coding etc etc etc.

So you, and I, as well as the many thousands of others who found this, are all wrong.

Now sshhhh!

Seriously though, at this moment, the output is fine and I have no issues with the Audio at this time...

Im usually only prone to Bad Direct sound driver when I pull the headphones out or into the jack and then click another song within a second or two of doing the plugging/unplugging and of course the high volume more recently, but right now it seems to be fine.

Im on the whole very happy with creative cards I have to admit... Sure, they have had their share of issues, more than they should have had too, so thats a smacked hand to creative for that, but in the same breath, they have also proven themselves to be the best man for the job in most cases.

For me, as only one example...

My speakers are Altec Lansing 955 - These have no volume or headphone socket or anything.

So, therefore, I rely on the livedrive for the headphone socket and the keyboard for the volume control.

Sure, Onboard Audio can sort out the headphone issues with using the ports on a case and the audio headers, but stuff that.

I am considering a replacement but I have not seen one that I would be happy with as I feel that the benefits of having one is not worth the outlay.

When this card dies, I have a couple of other Cards to fall back on, and the LiveDrive too is one of a number that I have... They do their jobs just fine 99% of the time.
