Behind you... Naked!
Ok, so it gets worse doesnt it?

I have only had Vista64 on the PC for a few days and most things seem to be goingvery well, but the day before yesterday it started to get funky with hanging and intermediate internet, now it has completely lost the ability to access the internet.

Networking however is just fine, Im currently watching Dexter from the Server over the LAN on it, andnext to it, Im typing this page down on a LapTop, so the router is fine... The router is currently a WAG354T but I have tried a number of others and they all do the same thing.

Only thing that I have noticed is that the router constantly sets up a toredo entry using UDP rather than TCP onto 192.168.1.66 to port 63709... This is an IPv6 thingy I know that much, but I know sod all more TBH.

The thing is, that the Main PC is always 64 and not 66 at all... Thats my daughters PC and thats not been used for weeks, so why would it default to 66 when itsset to 64 ( Quick check verifies the PC is still on 64 and the Ports still assigned to 66 ? )

So, is Vista cocking my network settings about or what?

Is there anythign I can do to restore the network junk todefaults, because I am really wanting so hard to have vista on this PC and apart from the niggles, its not been to bad, but no internet at all is veryhard to accept as a "Niggle"

Anyone know what I can do to resolve these issues?

Many thanks in advance.

No one know about this?

Ok, why does my router keep setting things over to 192.168.1.66 when its connected on 192.168.1.64?

It has done this on all routers I have connected it to.

Don't know if it's similar problem, but my Vista 64 sometimes loses connection and fails to work sometimes.

Resetting the router fixes it for me, if its any help to you

Is it doing all this on wifi or over ethernet?

what happens if you put the vista 64 pc at the daughters pc address does anything change?

V64 Loses connection.
It did this last time and sure enough, resettign the router got it back, but this has been off the internet for 2 days now, yet everythign else works perfectly fine?
Very confusing?

Ethernet.
Its all Ethernet except the LapTop which is Wireless ( Except when I want to do lots of network stuff and then I will connect it to an ethernet cable )

When I switch on my daughters PC, it has the normal network error due to it staring the same IP as we would expect.

I manually change the IP on the Vista64 PC to somethingh else and it still does the same thing... Networks fine but no internet.

I have now gone through all my PCs and I have them now back on dynamic.

I then switched EVERYTHING OFF

I have the vista PC and the vista PC ONLY switched on, along with the router of course.

I have for the time being, taken my LINKSYS 354G v2 off and I am currently using an ADDONICS ( Who? ARM8200 ) this is a nasty router, but its got 4 ports and no wireless capability at all ( You got to try all the avenues I s'pose )

I had a look and I am now on 192.168.1.8 ( This is what the router gave the PC ) and its really really tryign to connect... I think it has TBH but nothing came up for a while and then I got the page not found, so I have looked at the traffic info and sure enough its send 85k and received 24k, so its there but massively crippled.

It also says the IPv4 is ...

Hell now its gone down???? - It was there 2 seconds ago.

...

Well, IPv4 was ok but 6 was limited?

Ok, this is now the vista64 PC and according to the network center, its NOT connected.

Yup, Im on the Vista64 PC and there is a huge red X between the router and the internet icon?

Viewing details shows:-

IPv4 local
IPv6 Limited
Media state Enabled

So, Im not on the internet, but I can reply to this ?

More confusion.
