Behind you... Naked!
I have never had total success on getting Vista64 onto that Mobo? - I cannot figure out why, but I just cant.

Last week, or just over, I got it on yet again, and I ironed out the issues, most of the ones I have had previously, simply did not appear so that was a bonus, the HD clicking etc never happened, the usual irritating bits of vista I got on top of straight away and it has been fine.

The only 2 issues that stuck for a while was that every time I clicked on a link in Windows Mail, it would open up 2 pages to the link, but the first page would fail to load up ( Even though it pointed to the exact same link? ), and that if I tried to overclock the CPU, it would drop to 700MHZ ( Never did this in anything other than Vista ) I have one issue which is that some games dont want to keep my options properly... NFSU2 is one as I like to use PLAS for the UDLR controls but when I reload the game, its back to standard. Silly issue, but another incompatibilityissue none the less of Vista.

Most issues just seemed to repair themselves, which makes me think that it was simply just another update issue which is only to be expected with such a large OS as Vista.

Its been running so fine in fact, that I decided that I was happy enough to activate it.

Thats when things started to fall apart.

it would not activate then it would and it did, but now it does not know its been activated and there is so many things wrong now, that its falling apart right before my eyes.

I have been oh so close this time, and I am going to give Vista another go right now actually rather than leave it for a few weeks, but Im not convinced.

I have VistaPrem32 on a system upstairs and its been rock solid. I put Vista64 onto a couple of systems and its been fine on those, but I want it on the DS3 and I just cannot do it... Im bloody annoyed with it... And myself too, but is it me?

Anyway, just a whine more than anything.

am using vista on a ds3 p mobo and its working just fine with me no probs only thing i did have issue was the usb but i forgot to istall the chipset drivers. have you tryed a bios update??

I would say yes, its on v12, but I also know that I had a load of issues and went back to 7 and it went fine again...

What v BIOS are you running ?

I will go there and have a look.

It has not only been the board to be fair...

Issue with one of the HDs clicking like a bugger
Issue with another HD stopping all the time and then the PC waited till it started back up again
Another issue where media ( Videos and even MP3s ) just hung for a second or two
There are not the board, but add to the list where they dont happen on the other PCs only this one...

I've got the 965P DS3 (3.3) and Vista x64 Ultimate (retail) is absolutely fine for me.

How were you trying to overclock? Using Easytune?
