For some reasons, I happened to have a copy of XP SP3, so I went back to XP. To my greatest amazement, I feel XP fast. What I mean is that when you double click on My Computer, the window pops up just like that, my naked eyes don't see any waiting in the background. When I double click on Windows\Systems32 folder, all the icons display and you don't feel like it being sticky.

The same I do to Vista64 with SP2 installed, there is a kind of laggyness. Most of the unused services are shutdown.

I have 4GB of RAM, even though the P5Q Deluxe motherboard is taking away 700MB of RAM, XP still runs faster than Vista.

Is that a problem with the amount of RAM, or is it a problem with my Q6600 CPU?

XP came out about 10 years ago so was designed to run on much lower spec systems then vista
