Visual Studio code block select

Is there a hotkey that will select all text in a code block like Sublime Text has?

No, dont think you can unfortunately (not that i've come across in VS anyway).

VS2010 has a block select option when you press alt and drag or arrow which can be handy but I cannot think of a way to auto-select a given block.

Might just be me, but when i'm playing with the HTML code in VS 2010, when I click an element I can then click the box it relates to at the bottom of the screen, this then highlights all the text within that element.

I get that too, but that's web projects only it would seem.

ReSharper has an Extend Selection command which does it; keep pressing it until it breaks out to your whole block rather than the current line.

I had it but the Free Trial expired, it's tempting to get a license for it though.

It's definitely worth it. It makes refactoring pretty much effortless and the code hints it gives you (convert to LINQ, fix capitalisation) are great.

Same here, wish it was just a wee bit cheaper. It'd be ok if I just needed the C# OR VB versions as £116 isn't too bad but I use both languages regularly so would need the full edition to get both.

Also see its now has XAML editing tools that would come in real handy...

They've recently massively improved their JS support, too. And XML. I wouldn't work without it, tbh.

Just using a trial of resharper, I feel I don't fully know or appreciate everything it can do, any one got any advice for what it's capable of??

It integrates pretty seamlessly with Visaul Studio so I actually forget what features it adds without looking them up .
