Vita or 3ds

PS Vita for me.

You have the whole Playstation eco system as well as PS+ (which is trippley worth it if you and a PS3).

I also prefer the majority of games (although the 3ds does have some fantastic exclusives).

If you really want to play Mario/Zelda - 3DS
Anything else - Vita.
 
3ds xl is looking good this year, luigis mansion, fire emblem, pokemon etc etc. plus already some very good titles out for it now. Not saying the vita is bad, it has some good titles too. but if it were me id be going for the 3ds.
 
Vita would get my vote. I have both and cant remember the last time I used the 3DS.

The downside of the Vita is the software line up is quiet at the moment but I'm sure that will change this year. There's a good few games at the moment to keep you going anyway.

The Vita has just had a price drop in Japan so maybe that will follow here but no news yet.
 
I bought a Vita at Christmas but looking at what's coming for the 3DS XL this year I'm kind of wishing I had gone the Nintendo route. Don't get me wrong the Vita is a great handheld and PS+ is fantastic for it (I have 7 pretty good games for it and have only actually purchased 1 of them) but you wouldn't be going wrong by going the 3DS route either.
 
Vita

Although there doesn't appear to be many games releasing this year, the ones that are look really good (Soul Sacrifice, Tearaway, Killzone). Also IGN have a video demo of Urban Trials which looks impressive, and will hopefully be released on the store tomorrow.
