I have had 2 demos of the HTC Vive at Currys PCW in London. One demo was not really enough to evaluate the Vive. I would like to demo the Rift, but none are available? I do tend to be overly fussy, so don't take my views too serious. I did find the Vive too cumbersome and uncomfortable to wear. After a short time, I want to remove it, BUT after a while because of the immersive VR experience which is absolutely stunning, I did not notice these discomforts. VR is in its infancy, so the technology will greatly improve. Will I buy a VR headset very soon, probably yes. I do believe that VR is a technological marvel. You HAVE to experience it.

Software used in Vive demos

What software did you try in the demos?
First was an alien shoot-em-up, standing in some starship hanger, firing at aliens. Then was VR paintbrush. then I was in a VR office operating a VR desktop PC! Then the most impressive was on a the deck of a sunken ship, with fish in front of me and also a friendly whale. It was like I was REALLY there! I felt as if I could feel the cold water surrounding me! The Vive hand controllers are VERY responsive to hand movements. What a difference from using a keyboard and mouse, looking at a flat monitor. Love to see Paranormal Activity the VR game, now that WOULD be Very Really SCARY!

It sounds like you played space pirate (which is good fun when your at home and not embarrased to duck and dive around on the floor to dodge the bullets.

I personally have played both the rift and the vive and at the moment the Vive is way ahead, not purley because of roomscale and the controllers but the numerous games that are out for the vive focused around all these features. That said oculus is good (better for seated experiences and the games are certainly more polished.

I have an order of things i put on for everyone and i always put the rifts experiences using revive on first and build upto the better ones.

This is the order.
1. The oculus Dreamdeck
2. Oculus Lost
3. Either Harry or Luckys Tale, dependant on the person.
4. The Lab
5. Tiltbrush
6. Dont let go
7. Budget Cuts

Then a few others dependant on there tastes

I have to say though, for me and everyone (around 25 people) ive tried the oculus demos rarely impress anyone when compared to the vive ones. Its usually tilt brush or budget cuts that they talk about when coming off.

but thats just my twopence and my experience

I agree about paranormal activity i cannot WAIT for it myself, looks awesome !

yeah the blu is good, i showed me mum that yesterday...i knew it was gonna be good when she jumped at the school of little fish so you can imagine what happpend when the whale approached :D

No limits it good as well yes it too made me feel a little sick

Its strange but haivng the DK2 i cant often remember feeling sick on many games as many are seated, affected, dreadhalls, cyberspace and roller coasters etc but now when i play any of them on my vive i get sick as im not used to it at all with room space....well all but cyberspace i havent figured how to get that one working on the vive yet !
