Doubtful. But it will almost certainly need a PCI slot. Hopefully it'll be a cleaner solution than the tpcast.

£1,299.00 inc VAT  That 3x the price of a whole Oculus Rift setup

Am guessing that this is a wireless setup for this price

It sure is a lot of spondoolas, but those out there who want what is currently the best, most immersive VR experience are paying it.

If you already have an HTC VIVE with v1.0 base stations and controllers and want to upgrade your image, sound, ergonomics, chaperone and tracking you can grab the standalone VIVE PRO HMD HERE

Wireless is to be sold separately, available later this year.

Personally I would still go for the Pro + starter kit. Can't see the point of having 2.0 base stations that restricts you to 2.0 devices only, unless you really have a humongous room and need the coverage.

I thought the pro would have the new knuckles hand controllers.

Doubtful as they've shipped them to developers before 2.0 was a thing, and I think it's fair to say that not every dev that's been sent the latest revision has a pro setup. Then there's the WIG that's been touted as OG compliant.

Plus there's the, they'd be crazy nuts to do so thing:)

The knuckles will be SteamVR 2.0, but Valve have ensured that 2.0 sensors are backward compatible with 1.0 basestations (otherwise you wouldn't be able to simply replace the Vive HMD with the Pro). The converse is not true though: 2.0 basestations are not compatible with 1.0 devices.
