Viveport, yay or nay?

I was looking at this just last night.
It had a couple of videos I thought I'd try... but it just sat there with the icon spinning, for 10 minutes.
Gave up, uninstalled, used Steam VR instead, and faffed about with Aircar for an hour or so.
Oh

That's not good. I assume you download the content? That sounds like it streams it? If that's the case I'm not interested either

Think there is a misunderstanding somewhere. I am not sure what Ttaskmaster is talking about.

Viveport has a Virtual Hub like the Steam VR home and Oculus Home where you can browse the games etc that they have available in your headset. I have never used it, it's supposed to be crap.

But, you don't need to use because Viveport runs on the desktop as well. It's just a utility for choosing the games you want to download and play. It's a subscription service, as you know, but you can choose to buy the games if you want.

When you download a game it plays through Steam VR, it isn't streamed. And it's usually seamless.

If you are a new customer and sign up, they usually give you a free trial period, sometimes even a free game.

I never had any problems with it when I used it. I just didn't think the content was that great and I usually like to replay games so I prefer to buy in most cases. But, you should check out the free trial and see how you get on.

Thanks for all that info! I'll check it out see if theres a trial.

I was about to buy Vertigo Remastered but it's on this service so will see what the best option is.

It sounds fine if a little light on content. It has some of the main games I guess but not many
